I would think that being a 12+ inch coil, fast sweeping would be more detrimental than beneficial. Due to it's potential to having more targets under the coil, in normal detecting conditions. With the first generation motion detectors from White's many years ago a faster/whipping sweep speed got one more depth. In today's machines, little to nothing is gained by that technique, as a 'fast/whipping' sweep is not required to get depth.]]></description>

I can say I probably won't have one soon (If at all) for some time as if the reported prices are true they are way out of my ability to pay.<br /><br />Having owned my E-Trac since Sept. 2010, I am finally becoming comfortable with the machine and seem to be starting to use and understand the functions to the point I am pulling coins with some of the crappiest readings (audio, and Target I.D.) you can imagine, but my ear seems to be tuning to sounds that catch my attention and by using the Quick Mask feature (to get the best target seperation) and a lot of patents I am picking out some really nice coins (27 silver coins since the first of April including a 1904 Barber Half) out of some really horribly trashy sights.<br /><br />If this new machine is better then my E-Trac, It will have to be proven to me. Deeper than 6" takes the fun out of it for me. And the areas I search-I can't imagine a target going deeper than a couple of inches in a week or even a month. I know that sounds like a classic excuse, but I had the CZ-5 and enjoyed it for a while until it collapsed my arm because of the weight.]]></description>

Doing so will open up all kinds of future applications. Imagine auto mapping to a map repository on your PC or the web, and it keeping up with mineralization, iron signals, or nulling over the entire site. Later you can review your hunt without even having to connect usb. You just pull up the map on the web or on your pc and review the hunt and can see where the nails were from an old building or where a utility pipe or line might be buried, and you can go back with that in mind.]]></description>

High variability on the E-TRAC resulted in maximum variation of pitch from one target to the next. This was nice for identifying closely adjacent targets.
