I have an E-trac and love it even though I haven't come close to mastering it.... I live on the gulf coast and want to be able to work in and around salt water.... What about the Excalibur makes it worth the extra bux? Any and all replies are welcome and encouraged!!! Plus it is a great land machine.

I see more Excaliburs on the beaches than any other machine although White's Surf PI dual field is making inroads.

Is it worth the money? I say yes. But that is just my opinion. Others may say no.

The Excalibur is probably the most modified detector in history. I see more machines with remote switches, straight shafts, changed coils, higher output batteries, high tech head phones. Lots of options to tailor it to your type of hunting.

I had an E-trac and it was a great machine. But I found that I was tempted to get too close to the water with it. Since getting the Excalibur, I have gotten better at detecting as I pay more attention to sounds.
