They are cheap, with poor ergonomics but some of the other machines out there are just as ugly. The Cen-Tech can be tuned and tweaked and for the money it is a very good machine. I have seen people write that they don't hold up to the 'rough stuff' but, I have seen the same people write on the forums that their expensive Garret pin-pointer broke or that they have broken a couple of Garrets and they always imply that the fault lays with Garrett! Look after your tools and they will look after you.

The Cen-Tech is a good, low priced machine, look after it and it will ferret out the coins you can't find, but your metal detector tells you are there.

BTW this is the most interesting Hack (modification) I have seen for a Cen-Tech.

I also tweked a pot to get maximum sensitivity and depth. It will do about 1 1/2 inches on a dime.
