I cant say its plated for sure, But the free gift coins look the same and they say plated. I cant see the pics good enough to tell if they have '999' on them, an indicator of 'pure'. Although, I see lots of newer stuff on tv and ebay that say 999 and then the seller slyly, yes its a word, says its 'pure 999 plate'. I hate those selling tactics.

As a side note, Have you noticed it is surrounded with swastikas? Interesting and so tiny. I found one on cointalk that has a huge one on the reverse and 'similar' but not exact obverse. http://www.cointalk.com/t42709/

I believe the reverse says 'Hindu goddess Lakshmi' to some extent, I can't read it but I have only found one coin(gold) that has that design on the back. I founds tons that are similar but not quite the same. The part directly under "BAY" has a pointed peak. Most search results I found have a rounded loop probably depicting 'Ganesh'.
