I am having trouble even getting guesses on what it is. It's 5" x 2" at it's extremes. Made of brass. This is a field where an 1800's house once stood. It was also a prison farm in the 1800's. Any guesses?
Thanks,
Neal

I have searched the internet but have not been able to locate anything related to this plate.
It is cast iron and says Made in United Kingdom. Around the logo it reads SL & Co across the top and ANGLO across the bottom. Part of the logo is what appears to be 3 lightning bolts with arrowheads at the ends. The company was apparently founded in 1780.I am curious to know if it came from some type of horse drawn implement or something more modern.
Thanks for looking,
BB
