It was dead when I first got it, so I took it home and put it on the charger to see what it would do. When I put it in the machine it reads 11.3 volts on the screen. How many volts should it be reading for this battery on a full charge? It's the whites nicd that it originally came with. ...also do you guys think its safe to use this battery if it hadnt been charged in years? Kinda worried that if its been sitting so long the batteries may leak or something? :help:

Two Gold Rings!! (3 replies)

Finally, I found my first gold with my XLT, and it struck twice!

So for the past year (or thereabouts) I've been swinging my XLT and wondering when I was going to hit that first gold. At first I used the preset programs and found nothing but clad. Then, for about 6 months I started fumbling around with putting custom programs in...still no gold, but I did find a few silver coins and a big silver ring. Finally, I decided to simplify things last week by going with the preset Coin and Jewelry program with Tone ID and VCO turned on, and BOOM, I hit gold -- a 10K ring with a large aquamarine center stone and six small diamonds surrounding it. Then, the next day with the same program, gold struck again -- this time with a 14K ring with a round cut onyx center stone. Both rang in in the VDI 13-16 range (ring or foil).

I guess this is a lesson in simplicity!

Any tips on trying to find the owners of these rings without having scammers clogging up my email inbox? Also, what's a sufficient time period to wait before claiming them as my own?

Trading an XLT...What should I ask for? (2 replies)

I have two perfectly functioning XLTs, but I'm thinking about diversifying my arsenal. I'd really like to get a decent PI detector for the beach and prospecting. What do you think I could/should get for a direct trade (detector for detector). The other option is to sell one and invest the proceeds into a new detector.

Also, while I'm at it, any rec's for a good PI detector for beach and gold hunting ( under $1k)?

Thanks!

VDIs in the 60s (12 replies)

Man, I get a lot of VDIs in the 60s (mostly 62-68) that come up as a zinc penny or bottle cap. I skip them over half the time because, one, I don't want to dig another bottle cap and, two, because every time I dig a corroded zinc penny my frustration about how far we've fallen from the gold standard is renewed.

Has anyone EVER found anything good in this range? Also, what would I be missing out on (potentially) if I were to just block edit the 60s out?

Thanks!

Thereby the Bionic X4 gold detector is able to locate almost all gold objects. Independent of the age of the gold, the Bio-Energy-System can be used to find freshly buried gold, long time buried gold as well as golden artifacts that are not buried.
Is that BO energy after being in sun Wiil they take XLT in trade they sell for 12,000 dollars.:detecting::drool:
