Members of our club can join in and post on our own forum at Finds Treasure Forums. You will have to register on Finds Treasure Forums just like anyone else that goes here. You dont have to go anywhere but our own club forum if thats all you want to do. We encourage you to go elsewhere on this great site but thats entirely up to you. Certain words are banned including most of our competitors that have banned the use of our name but thats not a big hurdle for club business having a first class residence at a premium metal detecting site.

The reason I ask I'm highly allergic to them. I welt up like crazy when I get bit. Do you know of any repellent or topical solution that I can put on that will repel these darn nat's? It's almost bad enough I might have to top detecting for awhile and I really don't want to do that. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I have tried Off Cutter and the dryer sheet with no success. Thanks

Great company, food, prizes, and fun! Great start to a prosperous hard core detecting season. I would like to thank everyone who put this together! Joe DeMarco, Ron DeGhetto, and all the folks from Minelab along with The South Jersey Metal Detecting Club are a true class act! It was announced that they will be doing this again next year, and I cant wait to put together another frame to hang with this one! Minelab gave away over a dozen brand new detectors, and there was something to the tune of 20,000 dollars worth of coins and prizes. It only cost 35 bucks to register!

I went in right after planting and signals were all over the place. I think the loose ground and air pockets in it are messing me up. Even iron signals are bouncy LOL. Took a drive today and there is water standing in the fields just a mile east of us. We need the rain here to compact the loose dirt. Maybe the first part of this coming week will be better. So I should have plenty of these coming in the next few months.. I have started to save a few of them - when the wife is not looking that is (in hopes someone can use them for their finds possibly). They are kind of small but great if you like to keep the finds from your hunts separated (or throw your 'common' silver in). If anyone would like some just let me know and ill make sure to start saving them and bring them to the club meeting. If there is no interest no worries ill throw them in the recycle bin but I figured I would ask as people sell the goofy things on ebay.
Hope everyone is well!

Neil

Two More Indians Today. (4 replies)

I was hoping to search the area today around a third old house site in the field I've been hunting. As soon as I pulled into the drive going into the field the farmer came over and told me that due to liability issues I can't hunt there until they are done planting but I could go back and hunt the area around the first house for a couple hours. That was a bit of a disappointment but I knew there had to be more around the first house and hunting that again was better than not hunting at all. I managed to find a woman's clover leaf design heel plate, a President suspender buckle, and two more indian cents. This has been my best month ever for indians. I'm at 7 so far and hoping to find a couple more. I was told it will be ok to hunt after the corn is planted so I am looking forward to re hunting these sites on level ground and also to have rows to follow. I should get a more complete coverage of the ground by using the rows as guides. They should finish planting the field by tuesday. WOO HOO!! :detecting:

This site is totally iron and nail infested so I had to hunt super slow. My better finds were 2 memorial cents, 1 wheat cent, 2 indian cents, 1 clad dime, 1 silver dime, 2 V-nickels, 3 tokens, 5 flat buttons, an 1888 Grover Cleveland campaign pin, and another piece of a sword that I've been finding pieces of there. One of the V-nickels and the wheat cent were stuck together, they must have been a pocket spill. There were 3 houses in this field. The last few days I've hunted the area around 2 of them. Tomorrow I start on the third house.
