Are they both same depth or is Racer 2 less/more depth ? Thanks GS

use the same search coil and sweep speed on a side-by-side comparison, you might see a slight difference. Others might see a slight difference. To me, there was not really any noteworthy difference in depth-of-detection, when tested at the same time, on the same target, with the same coil and sweep direction.

I will say that, at times, when they are not both with me and when I am just hunting an unknown site and make an impressive find at depth, I do wonder ... for only a brief moment ... if the other would have hit on that target just as well. But honestly, it doesn't matter which make or model detector I am using when I make a surprising find and recovery, I always wonder, briefly, if my other detector battery models would have scored as well.

Then, after that very brief pause for thought, I set those wonderings aside because I know what all my chosen detectors can and can't do, and they wouldn't be in my personal arsenal if I didn't feel they provided performance on a level I would expect. By then I have already recovered the located target, filled the hole, put the item in my pouch and stood back up and, with the 'wondering moment' now gone, I get back to busily trying to find more good keepers. :)

Take your pick of model and mount the best search coil for the site to be hunted and have faith that either of these models will provide you exceptional performance. That said, my personal preference is the Racer 2. Most of the time I have either the 'OOR' DD or sometimes the round 5½" DD coil mounted, due to the fact I mainly hunt very littered sites. When it is a modest amount of trash, and mainly iron nails and not a lot of higher-conductive junk, I work the 5½X10 DD coil on the Racer 2.

A clarification and reminder to my above post.

As I stared, you need to compare using the same settings and same coil, and that also means using the same search mode.

The Racer 2 can provide a little better depth over the original Racer, however, by using the 'DEEP' mode with the right coil, settings and search coil presentation.

Seems to me the keys are the 2 gives more setting options, handles overload better and has a few other minor improvements. Depth seems pretty close though as mentioned you do have the additional option of a deep mode with the 2.

Thanks guys, I may as just keep the red Racer and use the F75se for deeper targets. GS
