I'm not the handiest chap in the world, so maybe you'll find it easier. You basically have to unscrew the battery housing, unscrew and remove the arm cuff, then slide off the housing. The new piece is held on to the shaft by two tabs with two screws apiece. The biggest challenge I had was reinserting the arm cuff bolts through the shaft because the wires are in there.

I also want to say that I hope this thread doesn't come across as a negative against Makro. They are an awesome company, and I think the Makro simply can't be beat in its price range, or even the next step up. And, Dilek, thanks for taking care of this issue for me. Much appreciated.
