Racer 2 battery housing is wobbly

Was cleaning my Racer 2 tonight (since it's raining outside) and noticed that the battery housing assembly is a bit loose and wobbly, like it's rotating on the detector shaft. Anyone else experience this? I don't see any screws to tighten to fix the issue.

I'm having the exact issue with mine.

Haven't found a way to tighten it either.

Interesting. I'm sure we're not the only two then.

I may have to super glue it or something. Either that or send it in for warranty repair.

My battery housing doesn't wobble but my coil sits cockeyed from the control box. Really annoying. They should check things out a little better before shipping to the public.

Have you heard anything on your wobbly battery housing yet Kapok?

I just sent an email last night about this issue.

Also, my stock coil started overloading Tuesday when the detector is powered up.
My OOR and RC40 coils work fine though. I tried removing the coil cover on the 11x7 and cleaning. Also looked for cable damage but it looks fine.

Yes, Dilek is sending me a new part in the mail, so that's good. I'm sure she'll do the same for you if your R2 is still under warranty.

Interesting, though, my stock coil started overloading the other day when I was trying to adjust its angle to the ground. Maybe I twisted the cable or something--I'm going to take a closer look at it tonight. Fortunately, I had my Cors Fortune and the OOR with me, and both worked fine. I'll keep you posted.

Scott

PS: How do you like the RC40 coil?

I already heard back from Dilek. Wow, she's fast!
I need to take a video of the 2 issues and send it to her so I'll do that tonight.

PS
I really like the RC40 coil. I chose it over the Thunder because I really like the quality of all of the Makro item's I own.
It's a bit heavy so I shorten the rod one notch.
When I run it in DEEP mode with a slightly negative ground balance (3 or 4 below whatever the auto-balance number is) it gets down as long as I slow my swing speed.

Got the part and swapped it out. Wasn't the easiest repair for me, but got er done. Here's the part that failed--the little post on the right for the screw, not sure what they're called, but 3 of the 4 were broken.

I haven't heard back yet from Dilek about shipping the coil and replacement part out, but hopefully the installation goes easily.
