OOR Coil getting it done

I've been hunting an area that used to be a little fishing park next to a water treatment plant which was then bulldozed in the 1960s. It is absolutely loaded with deep iron--like fist sized bolts & nuts, railroad spikes, slabs of rusty tin, etc. combined with modern surface trash like small fishing sinkers and pulltabs. Normally I would avoid it as being too much of a pain, but hunting spots are precious these days. It's been very slow going, but using the RC13 OOR coil, I've been able to pick out about a dozen Mercury dimes, 20+ wheat cents, an Indian head penny, a couple of buffalo nickles and a V nickel. None have been deep, but a majority have come out of holes with iron either below or close to them. Like I will recover the coin, rescan the hole and there's a big piece of junk still deeper and to one side.

This particular dime was in the same hole as a wishbone looking piece of iron (maybe a spur holder?). The signal was a pretty jumpy, but it sounded very good in one direction and I kept seeing high 70s flash on the screen. The Makro Racer 2 with the OOR coil has been a killer combo at this site. IMO its unmasking ability is a game-changer.

Awesome.... I'm been using the NEL Sharp on my Red Racer, and it's a Miracle worker too, LOL. I'll scan over a 12" area with that coil and get 4 or 5 different numbers, where as normally I'd get one or two. If I get a good one in there I'll dig it. It hasn't let me down yet...

That coil looks like it would be really tight; would love to try one sometime. I have the NEL Hunter for the Racer 2 and it's a good coil as well.

Yep.

Sounds about right to me,

Real setup to sneak out finds in the iron.
Key is to have patience in areas like this.

Some folks just don't have.

Thanks for sharing.

Sounds like you have a very good handle on your outfit.
