Makro wireless headphones - Got 'em!

Got my Makro wireless headphones today. Setup was very easy and they worked great, no lag at all, and nice to not have to mess with a cord tangling around my detector.

Good job, Makro.

They're great! I'd hate to use anything else now.

I have a Red Racer and noticed the Module and headphones was almost $200 and listed as Bluetooth. Then I see the newer Racer 2 Module and headphones for around $110 and listed as 2.4ghz. Now from what I've read the 2.4 is 6X faster than Bluetooth. So why such a discrepancy in pricing? Would the newer Racer 2 2.4ghz work with the older Red Racer? I have also have the Cores and ordered a Garret Z-Lynk for it and planned on using it also on the Red Racer. Just curious.

I never had a set for my Red Racer so I cannot say from experience, but there were reports that there was a bit of perceivable lag on the Red Racer BT phones. Being the stand up company that Makro/Nokta are known to be, ever with their ear to the needs of the customer, when the Racer 2 and Impact were released, they utilized a different set of phones with 2.4 gHz, and there's zero delay, plus excellent audio.

I'll never go back to wired headphones again :detecting:

are not functional on the original Red Racer. Different, non-compatible technology. As Cal_Cobra mentioned, the original headphones, which I had, worked reasonably well, but they did have a small perceivable delay. The newer 2.4 Gig. headphones don't and they work really well.

Yes, It's a common phone size. The same cord is also used on Garmin GPS units and my Cannon camera uses the same cord.

Odds are you already have a micro USB cord in your home. Most cell phones have the micro jack and designed to plug into a USB port. Apple won't though. My LG has one.
