Results from air test with just a small amount of chatter in headphones approx. 9 1/2 on sensitivity, but if I moved it down to silent mode I would lose approx one (1) inch of depth. This was with the discrimination set at 0. If I moved discrimination up to two (2) which is where most of the post suggest that you run this unit I would also lose approx. one (1) inch of depth.

PULL TAB 7"
10k RING 7"
NICKEL COIN 7"
ZINC CENT 7"
WHEAT CENT 8"
CLAD DIME 8"
MERCURY DIME 9"
CLAD QUARTER 9"
SILVER QUARTER 10"
SILVER HALF-DOLLAR 10"

Your air test sounds about right, your good to go.
Remember that the detector may or may not go deeper than the air test depending upon the ground mineralization.
It shouldn't loose much depth in highly mineralized coils as many other higher frequency detectors do.
Think about picking up an 8" coil if your Wader has the replacable coil connector. You may find it does a better job overall.
You loose a bit of sensitivity to small targets using the 10". This may explain your air test results.

I don't run silent mode due to the loss of depth. You can hunt in 0 or 1 disc and see how you like it. In the water you generally dig it all.
If running low disc. figure double blips are nails or hairpins. Listen for quick repeatable sounds to be rings and coins. Faint sounds can be small or deep targets.
Loud target sounds are big or surface targets= raise coil to narrow the target response. If target response doesn't narrow after raising more than 7-10", figure it's a large target.
Dig to verify for future reference.

The wader is a very simple unit to operate, you just have to spent some time with it to learn the ins and outs.

Thanks for the information, one of the reason I bought the Wader was from reading your post.
