UniProbe coil. :detecting:?

Got a UniProbe headset and probe, everything is just sweet.

Now I'm to purchase a PI coil to fit and have a choice between 8" and 11".
There seem to be mixed opinions on the size to use, so I'm not here to cause a rift between the followers of eider.

8" PI coils are usually more sensitive to small items are easier to pinpoint with and can be used slightly faster than 11" coils.

At the present time I'm leaning towards the 11" coil, mainly because the beach is Large, Wet and Flat at very low tide,
so there will be no speed swinging more like an attempt for good coverage before I tire.

When water hunting I prefer 8" or you will have to use a large scoop.

The question is: Can you get a Dime or a Nickle at 10" on a wet beach with the 11" coil.

HH PI have 2 x 9 volt batteries said to be connected in series, making it 18 volt,...........is this so.??
UniProbe headset uses 1 x 9 volt battery but appear to use the same coils as the HH PI .........again, is this so.??

That's it for the questions, thank you kindly for reading this post.

I have used PI detectors for many years, just not the ones made by Detector Pro.

Got the new 11" coil in the morning, a little mod and it is now on a shaft ready for a beach run after which I should have the answers to my own questions.

Tests in garden without digging have been positively interesting.

Please let us know how it works. I am considering the UniProbe, as I really like my Pistol Probe. The idea of converting it to a PI detector is very appealing - I wonder how well it performs compared to the HH PI. I would have much use for UniProbe and only very little for a PI detector (2-3 weeks in a year).

UniProbe as headphone with probe works really well.

As a PI detector:
Not the most power-full PI detector I have used.
It's basic, It's light and it is easy to use for beach work.:detecting:
Pinpointing on sand is easy, pinpointing in chest deep water not so easy.
A dime at 7" in wet sand is possible, 8" would be borderline and stretching it.
The video camera is on the side of the headphone in order to obtain sound, when in use.

Say no more, don't want to wake anyone.:nono:
Thats it from me I shall go have some fun.:detecting::wiggle:

That is a disappointment for me. My Minelab Quattro can get a coin of this size at 8" as well in the wet sand. And I would say that my Tiger Shark would get almost as deep in the water. I have had danish coins at 6-7", but i cannot really tell the depth precisely.

That means I will stay with my Pistol Probe as it is deep enough for me and get another shallow water PI machine.
