A ho-hum AM hunt:blink:

Went to the heavy pounded beach for a water hunt.
For a change no other hunters in the water or on the sand.
That didn't help much as the targets were far and few.
between.
The DP PI was finding all the ones that signaled
ended getting 6 bobby pins 3 pull tabs a few screws
and two pieces of wire.
For my effort getting close to $ 1 in clad, a small silver
toe ring , a copper wrist bracelet and two junk
earing.
Water was calm and temp was + 18 C nice peaceful
hunt till the swimmers and bathers showed around 11 AM
Not many drops in that hunt.

You situation is pretty common Joel.

Lots of beach hunters around are complaining about their lack of finds this year.

But I've also noticed more detectorists swinging at the beach than any other year I can remember.

Smudge you've got that right.
Lots of newbies hoping they'll strike the gold.
They 'll be disappointed to see how hard it takes
to get those treasures.

And plenty of them leave much behind as they hunt. Then give up and sell the machine or put them into the closet for occasional use and pursue a different hobby.
Then there are those that see all the other guys detecting on the beach thinking to themselves, there's nothing left.....................already defeated hunt for a while and leave.
I think of that as thanks for cleaning out the junk, less I have to dig. Thanks for unmasking a target or two. The only thing I despise is the evil beach cleaning machine
with the electro-magnetic bar picking up magnetic Canadian clad coins...............but, hope it left the gold and silver. In the water have a lot of sand shifting going on here at our beach,
huge shallow lake. No gold yet, just have to there at the right time when the right trough is formed.
