Thank you Rover! Based upon your experience also as a mutitone runner,:clapping:

Now comes math time....whats this rig gonna retail at? I got a check in the mail for $1500 yesterday from a guy who I did some work for a year and a half ago, never expected to see a nickel of that!:surprised:.....Thinking wetsuit, tanks, and this Udub should about tap it....

Its gotta Pay off quickly though, like X5 the first year out...thats a lot of gold, which is what I hunt, specifically chains... both my other rigs paid off in a hurry, so I dont see a problem except to commit/dedicate to a whole new world of underwater hunting with the tag along expenses+effort+time...I followed a lot of Scubadetectors work, and CarterNY vids..so with the right gear and locations, it looks possible...

So whats a guy to do?...I'm trying to talk myself into diving around the docks and rafts and jump off points up here in MI if the math works out, its an ROI type of thing for me..although that check may have been a 'sign from above' for me to go for it!

I'm with you as well Rover. I dig everything above iron . be it fresh or salt water. One of the main reasons I parted swith the Beach Hunter 300 . The chest mount was ok but swinging the big coil on a straight shaft got to the arm after a little while.

I like the new carbon fiber shafts but they are a bit pricey . i threw my Landpro up on the forsale classified because of the weight and am trying to grab up a pirate or a pirate pro with the smaller 8'' coil. I can easily make some pot adjustments on the unit to make me a happy hunter , not a problem. Its just now dealing with a little arm and neck issue thats arrose and Gotta do what makes things easier.

I wasn't suppose to mention the coil option either but after seeing the video and speaking with the folks at Nel. Obviously its ok to talk about it now.

Nice option and great performance with the new coil . Now set back and see if anything will come about . I'd love to see a 10'' double D.

Having tried all kinds of units and coil options/sizes when beach hunting, for me, the bigger coils (11-15 inch ranges) started to make my swing pattern inconsistent. As I tired, I found that the coil started to not be parallel throughout the swing, and at the end of each swing (and several inches prior to each end), the coil would be tilted and 4-5 inches off the ground.

I now almost always hunt with 8 inch coils on the beach, regardless of conditions. I sometimes use 10 inch coils, but hardly ever 12+. Just too much work trying to keep that coil level and consistent for long periods of time. Plus, struggling to keep it level and consistent and being aware of it gets me physically and mentally drained, which affects the fun part of detecting.

Still, I would like to see a bigger coil option on the UW since there are times when beach coverage and depth have to be addressed unless you don't want to find anything since a smaller coil just won't do the trick in certain situations. But I have had many times when targets would be scarce and I had a big coil on, and then hit a spot densely packed with targets of all kinds, and wish I had a smaller coil at that point !

Trade offs....always in the mix in this game of detecting.

Yes! Yet in my experience with different set ups, a big DD coil works better in the target dense situations than a similarly sized concentric coil. Though all has been hard wired so far, I am hoping to hear that at some point there will be a coil connector to allow changing coils.

I'd like to see a Double D coil like the 10'' on the Lobo Super T. for the Detectorpro Units. I do like the fact it kills on sensitivity and depth but I am thinking this should have been thought out prior to now deciding to bring it out . I like the rechargable battery option also which would also be another idea I'd like to stuff into a pirate pro for beach Hunting. Obviosuly Nel has a good concept and it works really well as far as sensitivity and depth and being able to handle mineralization. Put it into an 8'' option and I'm In. I'll keep the landpro as a lowner. lol

I am running a surfmaster Pi pro DIY home build this year and the Detectorpro . Outside of soon opening up shop and selling new and used units This Underwater almost has me convinced on owning one as a personal unit. Like I said. If nel Comes up with a 8'' or even a 10'' D,D, i'm in.

I agree, I would also like to see the test with the 8". I wonder if an 8" DD is in the works

Who shots the videos? I wonder if there is some way to get in-touch with him to see if he could do one with the 8".

Anyone hear if the coils will have the special ends on them to allow us to change out to different size? Maybe so if indeed the unit is sold as pro package combo deal.

I did he unthinkable this evening. and so far so good. I installed a 12x10'SEF Coil onto my Landpro. Tweaking the pots to fine tune it. I figurte if anything I'll fry something . NOPE.

Hitting rather nicely on the air tests . I'm still tweaking but anyway. The coil was for a Tesoro cibola. Tejon. 12x10'' SEF. So far I'm looking at 12'' with the coil doing simple air tests. quarter.dime. 14kt ring.
