Tuning help - DP Headhunter Diver PI (yellow unit)

I picked up a used PI unit and was disappointed with a 5" max air test (dime). I found the link at http://www.treasurelinx.com/detectorpro.html , read about up to 9" air tests, and made my way here.

The unit was testing indoors, outdoors, and at the beach but the results seem to all be within the 4"-6" range. So I wonder if the tune would likely gain that extra depth? If so, look at step 3 and can you tell me what type/size/model# of a ferrite pot core should be used?

The Headhunter Diver/Wader (Yellow) is not a PI unit. The Headhunter PI unit (early version was black) newer version was tan.
I have all 3 models.
The Diver/Wader is a single frequency 2.4khz' unit.

Dont unload it mate. DnD. keep that unit and give Gary Storm a call at Detectorpro. You may be surprised he could fit it with a new NEL 12'' D.D coil for around $215.00 and that unit will be the iceing on the cake . JUST MY OPINION.
