Cord Strain Relief

Somthing I have always done on all my chest mounted detectors is to tie a 3/16 rope to the upper swing arm and the other end to the control housing. I make it a little shorter than the electrical cord and lightly wrap it around it so that the rope will carry the load when it gets yanked on and not the electrical cord. This way I have never had an electrical cord go bad from it being pulled on. On the Diver I use a hole in the shaft for the arm cuff and secure the other end to the headphones. I use the bolan knot because it is always easy to untie.
