Anyone use one? I have one on the way and besides the weight how does it compare to the 10x12 DD? I will be using it for relic hunting in open pastures.

i dont think it goes any deeper than the stock 9 by 8, and i dont think the 10 by 12 goes any deeper than the stock coil,,,both coils will give more coverage of course, but as far as depth on a bullet, i think they are all about the same,,,,but i do know that the 10 by 12 will wear your butt out after a while of swinging that thing, hey are you the one that hunted the diggin in vir., if so, how did you do,,,,

Tried one with the same results.N/T

In high mineralized grounds 10x12 coil makes the difference (in open areas) and punches deeper than the stock coil. 11" dd coil could be a valid alternative in hot grounds with high grass. 10 x 5 elliptic dd and 5 coils are good for high mineralized grounds and iron contamined sites or with grass. My 2 cents.
Take r.

I guess I'll just have to see for myself. Guess it will be good for weed stubble thou!! Never been to a DIV, can't ever get off work to go and I think the price to get there is too much for the results.................MO

I was just at the last DIV, however.......

....I didn't use the Tejon. I heard too many reports that the Tejon just won't work well in that crappy soil. Since the DIVs are my only decent digging times, I try to make the most of them and I didn't feel like experimenting with it. I used the MXT instead. While I was there, I did notice that someone was using a Tesoro, not sure which model. I wanted to go up to him and ask him but I was busy digging up something myself and I lost track of him. The Tejon is an awesome machine, I love using it. I just haven't taken the time to experiement with it at a DIV. Maybe at the next one I will.

Well, I got the coil today. Don't know how it will do in the dirt, but I can get 12" air test in disc mode set at Iron on the dial. Weight is just a little more than the stock coil, but not as heavy as the 10x12 I had:tesoro:

I hope you do well with it. The open frame coils are nice, but are a pain to use when relic hunting in the woods. Depending on your results, I may have to get one myself.
