Seems about right been a while...they are way behind in ID units and lets hope they catch up....their beep and dig units have gotten much deeper now time to concnetrate on updating their ID models...Big screen Tesoro is first on the list as previous ones just too darn small.....

That would be great.I would like to see them come out with a water proof Lobo Super TRAQ .Or a Tiger-shark with automatic ground balancing.

I'd like to see some new detectors from Tesoro, but not so sure I would buy one right now. Maybe if they spruced up the Vaquero it might entice me to buy a new model but the ID detectors don't interest me that much.
I tried the Deleon and the Cortes and didn't care for either one that much. Guess we just have to wait and see what Tesoro has up their sleeve......

I can get by without a screen, but I would love to have a Vaquero or Tejon with tone ID like the Golden Umax. Something with adjustable ground balance in disc with the tones would make these lightweight detectors almost perfect.

Vaquero with tones, I'll buy the first one.

They're awake, afterall they wouldn't have made the worlds best detectors already if they were sleeping. :tesoro::thumbup:

Hi Pulltaber, We already know how it goes and that we will hear of new things from time to time and that always fires us up about detecting.I know all us Tesoro hands want them to be around forever, and one way they may be able to do that in this economy is to not attempt any new ventures until things get better. At best that will be a long while, if ever. I won't get into the heart of the matter, but things are tuff for many folks out of work and it will likely get much worse. I appreciate anything Tesoro does to hang on and keep their working hands on the job. If they can come out with something new, and it be a success that would be really great, but ain't no promise of that and we all should understand that by now. I do know one thing for sure, Tesoro has been dependable in the past and I know from experience that others have not, so I will be content and do my best with what I have at present.I rermember well some tuff times when folks had no color choice when they bought their family auto. It would be Black, and they were glad to get it. HH, Charlie

what fowlercharles said is true. I see Tesoro comming up with a deeper coil first than with a new detector. tuff times indeed in the whole occidental world...

I see that it's gonna have to be a whole new technology. I'm amazed that people think they've gotta go a foot deep to be profitable in this hobby. IMHO. Just thinking out loud.

The logical choice to me would to build on what they have right now. Don't spend all the money on R&D right now, but give us tones on the Vaquero and maybe even the Silver µmax that it seems everyone is asking for.
Tesoro isn't known for the bells and whistles on their detectors, and I doubt we will see them go this direction with a new detector in the future. We all know they build the best beep and dig detectors made and they should concentrate on that in my opinion.
I have no clue what their sales figures are, but would be willing to bet the Compadre, Silver µmax, and the Vaquero makes up a big percentage of their overall detector sales.... all non metered detectors. Personally, I don't care for digital detectors. I've tried several digital detectors
and have not found one I was happy with. I'd rather see Tesoro produce an analog detector rather than digital.....and I'm sure lots of other Tesoro fans would prefer it also................HH

I would love to see a PI gold detector that was on line with the Minelab 5000, but made here in the good old USA. Grubstake
