I added a new older model Tesoro to my aresenal this week. I found a silver sabre for sale in my area for $80 in excellent condition with headphones and could not pass up this deal, even though there are many newer models out there by Tesoro I was impressed by what I have read in the reviews and that price for any Tesoro is amazing regardless of its age. It will be coming in today. Is there anyone who has had experience with this detector? Any pointers or information would be welcome. I will post pictures when I can. I may be to busy detecting, but I will try to post some soon. Thank you Tesoro for making so many great models, If I could I would try them all.HH and Good Luck.

Silver Sabre II Umax is a crackerjack little detector. You did well for $80.00.

In the "Sabre" line, Tesoro made the Silver Sabre (original), then the Silver Sabre Plus, the Silver Sabre II, and finally the Silver Sabre µMAX.

I don't recall a Silver Sabre II µMAX. They only made four (4) Silver Sabre models, then added to some confusion for several hobbyists with the Silver µMAX (a non-"Sabre" model).

If you got a Silver Sabre II, it works a bit quieter than the newer versions when hunting in a dense iron littered site. If it is a Silver sabre µMAX, then you got my other favorite Silver Sabre model that is a great coin hunting unit and lighter weight. Verify which model it is that you acquired, and how it works for you.

I will check it out next time I am detecting. I have only had it out a couple of times. Busy with family and such. Thanks for the input Monte. I always enjoy reading your posts. HH

Monte,
Sorry for the confusion on mixing the 2 models together. I have the Silver Sabre umax. I have not had much time to get out, but plan to use it tomorrow. What coils other than the standard do you recommend purchasing? Also if you do not mind, what kind of depth have you had with the standard coil. Thanks for your input in advance.
