You guys have perked my interest in the Golden with the new tones.----Does it get good depth and hold the tone pretty well on deeper targets (coins)?-----Any info you would care to give this newbie (to the Golden) about this detector would be greatly appreciated.----The notching on it sounds pretty slick!----------Thanks, Del

Hi Del,
Search up some of my posts on this forum. I've written a lot on the Golden. However, we don't hunt the same targets so there are going to be a lot of questions that others are going to have the answers to. I'm mostly a shallow target hunter with my Golden.

Davehut once reported digging a 9" dime with a high tone in some sandy soil. This post is probably 4 years back.

Tinfoil has some good reports. Search for his posts here. He has had trouble getting them tuned properly from the factory so you'll read a little about that when you search out his posts. But he sure liked the Golden when he got them to tune it right, but it seemed to take multiple trips to the factory sometimes.

JB(MS) can give accurate performance info as well.

And I'm sure the new users can give good feedback too.

If it is like my old Golden you could tell when you hit silver by the WARM tone it gave.

Probably one of the best for coin shooting and jewelry in recreation areas. Of course it can be used any where, I just think it really shines in rec areas. Most targets in these types of locatations are within 6", no problem for the Golden.

Thanks and good hunting,

Hey I have been away for awhile but selling a couple of detectors and you know what happens after that. You start looking and thinking and you are looking again.
Have I missed something.
last time I knew awhile back owners were taking a beating on the golden. all the old three tone -no depth etc etc.
I think I remember seeing one for $250 or $275.
What happened? did they get re-designed or something.
David
I thought about one severa times but read it had no depth.
I don't mean to get someone mad who has one but interested in knowing what happened.

I saw one and the ad said 4 tones but no rev2 on the manual.

hey DirtyDimes.
this is the same exact detector as the old one but just more separation on the tones so what makes it so much better if there is no depth change.
Hey I have had three tejons and three cibolas and two eldorados and one bandiddo ll µmax and a sidewinderµmax so I love tesoro's

I Know I saw that serial number somewhere and I have to find it and I'm thinking of getting this golden. I like the video that was posted showing the notch and tones but they are on the ground but still pretty impressive.
