Bandido II micromax,
Posted by: Old California
Date: May 20, 2017 12:39AM
Last night, Seen one on Craigslist a 85-90 mile each way, called this morning and it was still available. Owner said it belonged to his father, When he unzipped the bag, The detector appearance was remarkable. I don't think it's ever been on a hunt maybe turned on or backyard testing. Detector bag, hand digger, headset, manual and warranty card. It's so clean, as close to mint as one can get.

This early evening, Quick hunt in an area with a lot of old iron. Was impressed, almost neck and neck with the Lobo peeking through iron. If the Bandido had a smaller coil, then I feel it'll be pretty darn close with the Lobo on separation. Out in cleaner areas the Bandido II micromax should be deeper, will have to compare both at a test bed in the future.

Earlier, before the quick iron patch hunt, hit a tot lot with the Bandido II micromax. Was impressed, hunted in all metal at first. Then switched to disc mode, very responsive in both modes. And again, I feel a smaller coil was needed. Will need to learn the Bandido, but as clean as it is hate to scratch it. Today, Was the first time putting on a plastic bag on a coil, guess in time will not worry and let the nick's and scrapes happen.

Really don't know too much about the Bandido II micromax, Hopefully get some time with it on future Gold jewelry hunts and learn it's strengths for this type of hunting. I hear the all metal mode has it's strengths as well, that I'll have to venture with more especially on Gold jewelry hunts.

The Craigslist deal was fair paid the seller what he was asking, After factoring in gas got about $200 invested in the unit.

Thanks for looking,
Paul

Beautiful!!!
Just buy a coil cover and scuff that lol.
I wouldn't run any detector without a cover.

Thank you,

The coil has a cover, but somehow I just hated to scratch it. Probably by the next hunt, I'd have forgotten about keeping it clean and let the nick's and scrapes happen and not worry about it.

Coil covers are less than $7 and haven't changed since then. So scratch it and buy a new one to look at after the hunt. Lol

Mohave 7" coil on Bandido II micromax?
Posted by: Old California

Just air tested and back yard practiced with the Mojave 7" coil, unreal that 7" coil hit's as Strong as the 8" donut. Nickel discriminated out about the same at 5 on the knob, seems to work well with the Bandido.

Anyone know if it's ok to use this coil with the Bandido II micromax? Is there a loss of performance I'm not seeing at the moment?

Appreciate this, I'm not very familiar with several of Tesoro models. Both coils have five pin.

Any 5 pin works on it. With smaller coils usually will separate better but have loss in depth proportional to loss in diameter but sometime you are surprised

Thanks Stefan,

I lucked out then, don't need to purchase another coil the 7" is perfect. What I'm seeing is the 7" is smaller than the 8" yet gets great coverage, depth is about the same pretty darn close.

Spent several hours with it today, will post my finds and positive experience with the All Metal feature. All Metal feature with the Bandido II micromax is remarkable, All Metal performance is what I see with much higher end detectors yet this little guy has the same smooth all metal performance as those.

Thanks!
Paul

Well, I almost passed it up due to the drive. About 170 mile round trip, read do much positive feedback from others took a chance. Glad I did, All Metal feature is something I'm seeing from high end nugget detectors.

Will share today's finds later, Using all metal was great!

Take Care,
Paul

Works great, took her out today with the 7". From here on out, the 7" coil stats on no need to use another.

Thanks! Paul

Great pickup Paul. If I ever run into one in that shape I will grab it. The ground balance is a big plus along with the easy switch between all metal and disc via toggle.
It takes out small iron at 0 disc.

You must sell it quickly. I can take it off your hands and you can make a small profit
