Mojave gets gold

Been using both a TDI and Mojave searching school yards and parks for gold jewelry, last week Mojave scores it's first piece of gold 14k.

With the added GB to the Mojave, and second discrimination pot checking for jewelry range sure has made the Mojave fit my type of hunting. Was using the 8.5" Toltec 100 coil with the Mojave, and first target to boot out pops a 14k ring. A slight for sore eye's, then pull tabs and trash by the handful for the remainder of short hunt. Plus, Dug another dice earring stud. Recently found one just like this one, can't remember if from the same park.

The TDI is actually great for school yards or park gold jewelry hunting, very good with low conductive target's ratio of Bobby pins or wire is low, plus it is better than vlf for deeper gold jewelry targets especially old gold jewelry down deep. Just like using the TDI, Sure it's challenging but that's what makes the hunt even better keeps you on your toes analyzing every target to dig or not to dig.

Added an inline probe to the TDI, now it's even better especially for gold jewelry hunting.

Thanks for looking,
Paul

Can't argue with results, that's for sure.

Where are the diamond rings?.............They said there'd be diamond rings !.

Paul, well done on the old yellow stuff, but the bit that really i found interesting is the inline probe,so how did you adapt one to fit exactly the same way as a inline VLF one ?? i have a spare and almost new Sunray one that i bought for my DFX but only used it a few times, could that be modified to fit a TDI Pro ??

Your input would be most welcome.

Hello Mega,

The small White inline probe is made for Pi maybe even the TDI, I'll ask Reg which one it came from he had mentioned some of Eric Foster Pi probes work with the TDI so his may have come off an earlier Eric Foster Pi. As far as I know a VLF probe will not work with Pi, I may be wrong through.

My other probe from the Gold Quest works on the TDI, didn't know this until the other day after my conversation with Reg. It's much larger, Yellow in color and made by Eric Foster. To my surprise, after connecting a connector the Gold Quest probe works great. Good news for those still having an earlier Foster Pi with probe, that probe may work with the TDI.

To add on the second connector, removed the entire board so I wouldn't damage it from drilling. I've done that before, drill slips and takes out a component usually a resistor or capacitor. Will add a couple of pics below, one of coil connectors the other with TDI using an earlier Foster Pi probe (GoldQuest).

But as far as I know, A VLF probe will not work with the TDI. If it was possible, I'd like to know myself.

Take care Mega,
Paul

You bet! Nice to see gold from digging so much trash. With park and school hunting, I can go for week's even months before a piece of gold surfaces.

Thanks!

Wish the results were more often, but that's how it goes keeps us motivated until the next piece if yellow surfaces

Thumbs up for the Mojave Gold  , Your a brave man using The TDI Pro on a school Yard / Park, I Used The TDI Pro on The wet salt sand at Huntington Beach ca, & no bull

I was digging so deep you could call them fox holes to recover my coin size target ....Crazy deep.

Thanks Rob,

Yes indeed, really like the Mojave it's a snappy Tesoro.

With the TDI, I've yet to use my it for West Coast wet sand or even beach dry sand, have used other Pi's at Vience, Zuma and Santa Monica beach but never a TDI. We may have met somewhere years ago, was a time a lot of us from the Valley hit the beaches regularly.

Surely, I'll be going down there soon. A local Buddy want's to go down there. The drive is pretty far so it makes sense to bring a Buddy or two.

For park or School hunting, my plugs are small. For deep older coins from parks, use a Periscope probe to help locate the coin. And for surface or down 3" to 5" inches the inline Pi probe can Detect this deep which makes the plug even smaller.

Yesterday, Found another Pi probe which will operate at 10uS. Soldered on a TDI connector and it detects deep on coin size targets and also extremely sensitive to small target's. It's the same probe used with the Uniprobe, only the probe is plugged directly to the TDI by way of a modified second connector especially for inline probes.

For park jewelry, use the Miner John 10" x 5" folded coil. Small foot print, yet deep for it's size. No problem getting a wheatie down 8"-9" inches and very sensitive to low conductive targets when gold jewelry hunting, will post a picture of the latest probe addition. If TDI owners seen this probe up close and in action they would fork over big buck's to have one. It's that good, unreal deep and extremely sensitive.

Take care Rob,
Paul

Thanks AJ,

That's funny, Yes mine too. My new pile of pull tabs is growing too. Did get a nice stainless steel ring today, came in on Gold range. Those are fun to find in-between gold jewelry finds, nicer junk jewelry finds give us a boost too.

Take care,
Paul
