I think you may have done your due diligence. If she doesn't respond, add the ring to your collection and enjoy.

I agree with blind squirrel so far she doesn't even know that you tried to contact her if you didn't leave a message. If you lost something very valuable and special to you wouldn't you appreciate someone 's effort to return it to you? I also think you'll sleep better at night. Profiting off of someone else's misfortune wouldn't be very satisfying especially when it involves an item of sentimental value. I have a gold mothers ring that I found and have tried twice to find the owner with no luck. I will keep it and hopefully some day somehow re-unite it with the owner. That will be far more rewarding for me than to sell it. As someone else said you definitely have a conscience and want to do the right thing. If you are able to find the owner and give it back you will know you did the right thing!! Maybe she'll even give you a kiss.

Maybe she'll even give you a kiss.

I should mention I am a lady detectorist so I don't want any kiss from her.

UPDATE: She responded on facebook message to me that the house was burgularized a couple years and her jewelry was taken and she said it is possible the thieves dropped it. So I just went ahead and gave her the description of the ring. Never heard back. I was hoping she would want the ring and be real grateful because then I'd have asked to detect her yard. But she must not think it is her ring, so now it is my ring.

Cherrington, Good for you in finding that Mother's ring and best of luck in someday being able to return it!

You've done what you can, I understand what you mean about the kiss.
