Digger Modification

I've got a new Lesch digger, so I decided to cut the end off my old Minelab digger to make it more useful for scooping out loose dirt.

Used a hacksaw to cut the tip off of the digger and then a grinder to put an edge on it. .

Also had a problem with the minelab sheath being torn. I cut off piece of an old leather belt to go across the front. Used a hole punch and some metal screw-together rivots to attach the leather to the sheath. Blue lock tight on the screws so they don't loosen up.

Now I can wear both of the diggers on my belt, sharp for the initial hole and blunt for scooping out the loose dirt.

Greetings and good luck from West Virginia

Good job! Were you a Marine? You seem to be doing a great job of adapting and overcoming.

Small things that make the hobby more fun plus taking pride in your workmanship makes the hunting experience that much more exciting.
Nice work on those items.

Thank you for the kind words olfart and Still Looking. Wasn't a Marine, LOL. Workmanship was a little off on those rivots, I put up with torn sheath for long time, digger would be hanging sideways. Hope it gives someone a repair tip if their sheath goes out on them. Thanks for looking.

Indeed the Lesche standard digger is nice but too pointy at the tip and job well done...My favorite is the old 25 year old 3 in 1 digger that is a tad short now from sharpening.
