Trash and rocks...

Today was my first day out hunting seriously...
First off, it was a long hike from where I parked, I forgot my little hand shovel in the car...
I checked out a very tiny abandoned train station and found tonns of tin and generally trash, even concentrated tomato paste in a tube... Nothing else, although I might go back but with a magnet and wire to check out a well. After that, I went through what was left of a stone house which was so crumbled to the ground that I couldn't make any readings on the floor cause it was all rubble. I checked what was left of the walls but found nothing. In the whole house, I had absolutely no readings whatsoever. I only found a pull-tab just outside but was probably just thrown there by careless hikers. There were also alot of thorn bushes, boy they hurt, you get stuck real easily too. I guess tomorrow I'll go fishing.

Sounds like your giving up already??If the house is in that bad of shape, forget it.You'll find more out in the yard anyway.Check where the driveway would have been and the walks, both in front and out back.If its that old of a place, see if you can find the outhouse and check between there and the house. Also very large trees,IE.old trees. They provided shade in the summer. See it to believe it. Next time around I'll take a picture of the site. Sorry, no driveway, no road... There's a nice huge tree right in the middle of the house... An outhouse? Now there's a place I didn't check, actually, I don't think there was any room for one
Strange thing was I didn't find a single signal for a nail or a hinge or anything metallic, not even where there used to be windows.
No I didn't give up, but I did go fishing this morning, and yes I did give up fishing after a very short time. Maybe this afternoon I might go detecting again since the weather is nice.
Bye.
