Has anyone been able to come up with the latest codes to access the Sanborn Map Database? If so, please share. Thanks, Jody...

I went to my library and got a card. I can now log in and view maps for my state.

Hi Ray. I'd like mainly Texas & Ok. I like to access them from home. I used to be able to log in and get all the states without having to go to a library.

Try Google . . . . rather than posting "bootleged user IDs and passwords"

The official Sanborn Map site has the following statement regarding access to the maps through their portal:

Access to Digital Sanborn Maps, 1867-1970 is available to authorized users at subscribing institutions only.

The login to the site that many have used requires a User ID and Password which is changed on a regular basis and the ones that have been posted have been "bootlegged" which is the reason they get changed routinely.

Most state libraries or larger universities have purchased licenses to allow access to state specific records. Try doing a google search with

"[State name] Sanborn Maps"

You should be able to find an organization that will allow access on a state basis.

You mentioned you wanted to access Texas and Oklahoma . . . . . . try these links:

TEXAS: http://www.lib.utexas.edu/maps/sanborn/texas.html

OKLAHOMA: http://www.loc.gov/rr/geogmap/sanborn/states.php?State=Oklahoma

Hope this helps you find the maps you are looking for
