I see these birds outside my window on the Columbia River out here in Oregon. How they can lift the weight has been something to wonder. We used to have a cat, but one morning one of these Osprey got him and turned him into something to eat. My wife was upset as the cat was an old friend of hers. Not me!

yea I agree about the cat :D never will get another catN/T

I saw 2 bald eagles by the river yesterday.

I have seen Ospreys catch fish at the lake where they just didn't

grab em right, the fish will be flopping all around trying to get away.

When the bird gets high enough, it will drop the fish and dive down

to catch it torpedo style for a better grip. It seems like all the

wild life is making a comeback.

both or magnificent birds

I only see the eagles here,,and the odd Falcon type birds once in awhile... even saw a heck of a big owl detecting last year, could hear the wings flapping in the air...scarce as hen's teeth to see owls around here... that's a interesting observation you mentioned about dropping
the fish for a better grip...could you imagine what great eyesight these birds must have to survive....

Awesome video. I thought the part where it was shaking the water off in mid-air was cool. Even with that big fish in it's grip. It kinda looks like he had it gripped with one claw.

yea, I noticed that also... awsome birdN/T
