You've just made me come up with another idea. I'm going to use one of the new, teardrop washers as a template to make shims, out of a plastic milk jug. That way, as the washers wear, I can use shims behind them to extend their life. Tried to find some washers, locally, that would work for that but couldn't find any that were thin enough.
