Excal questions.

I plan to mail my Excal 1000 to Minelab at Kellyco for maintenance and a checkup, so to speak.

I know to only send them the coil and control unit, and that it will probably take them quite some time to get to it.

Basically, I want the machine given a good going over--checking the calibration, O-rings, coil, and coil cable, make sure everything is working well and at peak efficiency.

IF, they recommend a new coil, will they only install minelab manufactured coils, or will they install aftermarket coils as well?

If have been waffling back and forth about whether or not to keep the stock coil on it, or switch to an aftermarket one.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

I really don't know what I need, except maintenance, and checking the knob settings.

Next question, Champ--what coils are available for the Excal?
