Waterproofing a coil?

I have a Minelab X-Terra 705 and the coil is just water resistant. As are most coils from Minelab. Is there a way to waterproof the coil?

I believe if you take a close look in the back of your manual you will find all the ML coils are WATERPROOF not resistant. Very few coils now days are not. It even recommends shallow water detecting with the 705. I hunt in the shallow SALT water even with my SE. Now what people do do is seal their covers. We do that because it takes very little black sand under the coil to affect the GB and make these things chatter and we get tired of cleaning the coil...... especially on the beach.

Dewcon is right. Most all coils are waterproof because even folks that don't hunt in water get into some wet grass once in a while

The eleptical DD coil on the 705 gold pack is listed as water resistant, not water proof.
Not handy for a coil that will likely be used in a stream bed.
