Try shortening the cable to the headphones so you can hear things quicker! N/TPosted by: mudpuppy Date: December 28, 2011 09:03AM | Registered: 2 years ago Posts: 4,545 |

Sovereign GT (easy to do by just "building" lighter shaft) & SEF 12x10 as everyday coil. 8" Tornado (actually 7.25") as super heavy trash coil (Very deep & separates better than typical 8/9" true size coils). 13" Ultimate for large fields/beaches on certain days I want to grid faster than even the 12x10's nice improvement over stock for that. Stock 10" Tornado stays on water rig (stock shaft).
ProPointer. Owned 15x12 & SunRay S-5 (5.5") at one time. Loaned a prior 13" Ultimate & SunRay S-12 (12.5").Re: there always been talk about that shortening u coil cable will make ur machine go deeper ?? Posted by: otlew Date: May 22, 2012 06:35AM | Registered: 3 years ago Posts: 561 |

Try using different metal wires like , platinum or gold. After all, the ARE better conductor's of electricity......ngeQuote

For there to be any improvement with a shorter cable, the cable would have to exert some sort of lose or slow down of the signal from the coil to the machine. Most cables I've dealt with are twin co-axual or have a shield and the signal wire is large enough for there to not be any deprivation of the signal. I would expect the shorter or longer cable to make no difference at all.

If it doesn't make a difference, why do engineers now cram detector circuitry in the coil?
