Put CZ20 on a straight shaft and took her for a spin

Cobbled together a straight shaft for the CZ20. I think I'll look for a slightly longer handle that points down at a little more of an angle. Other than that, I like swinging it better in this set up than on the chest harness or on a belt. I started with the detector mounted above the handle in back but that set up balance lifted the coil. It is a pretty neutral balance positioned like it is with just a little weight on the coil.

Went to a local swimming hole for just over an hour. Not a lot but, a relaxing hunt with the revised set up.

TVR, I have a CZ20, hang the box from my belt because of the weight. Are you saying that your new set up helps. Does it help with the weight problem or balance. I might do the same. Dave

Jabbo,
I originally got this CZ20 with a belt set up. I was never comfortable with it. I got the Fisher chest harness and was more comfortable, but after about an hour in shallow stuff carrying the full weight of the detector I'd get tight across my chest and the middle of my back. If I was deeper, with the detector submerged, it would sway with the water movement and be kind of annoying.

Two hunts now with this set up, one in quite water and one with a fair amount of water movement, both with the detector fully submerged, and it just has an overall better feel for me.

I need to get a handle that has a little more angle down and maybe a little longer. Both the one on it in the picture and what I am looking at ordering are bicycle bar ends.

Not every set up is right for everyone, but this is now working better for me. It has good balance both in and out of the water. It isn't quite as spot on balance wise as the Sand Shark ... but it is close.
