Is Serial number 10242620 a Fisher Labs California unit or a First Texas unit ?

Most CZ20s have the word M-Scope on it, as well as a lable with the serial number as well as the address where it was made...ie at the Los Banos plant by Fisher. At least all the CZ20's I have had over the years did.

Not sure if FT made any CZ20's before the CZ21 came out.

IF I remember right and I could be totally mistaken. BUT I don't think First Texas ever made a CZ-20. As I said I could be all washed up!!

Its my understanding they did not make any CZ20's but did convert some CZ20's to CZ21's.....a quick call to Fisher would be my recommendation.

CZ20s were made in Los Banos. CZ21's are made in El Paso. For a price, we can convert a CZ20 to a CZ21.

Because of my job situation, I read forums a lot but rarely post.

In my situation, there are three kinds of inquiries which I generally won't respond to.

1. Questions relating to products we may have under development. (That information is on a we-need-you-to-know basis only.)

2. "Why" questions. "Why did you do this, why don't you do that?" (Why we do things is nobody else's business.)

3. Questions relating to what happens "behind the scenes" in metal detector software. (That usually involves trade secrets.)

In general, I am not interested in arguments of the "this brand is better than that brand" sort.

In general, I am not in a position to help someone with their special metal detector project.

In general, I am willing to discuss issues which I have raised in a forum post, including mention of specific makes and models if that's relevant to the issue of the post.

I welcome inquiries about treating Lou Gehrig's Disease ("ALS&quotfrom anyone who has a personal interest in that subject. My perspective on ALS therapy can be found in the ALSTDI Treatments Forum where I am a frequent poster under the username "Dave J".
