Just got the 10 1/2" coil for my CZ70 Pro

I just got a 10 1/2" coil in the mail today for my CZ70 Pro from Relic Hunter Supply. I have been curious how much it might improve the depth of my CZ70. It goes pretty deep with the stock 8". I did some air testing with it and it did give me 2" more on a silver dime and a clad quarter. With the 10 1/2" coil I got 12 inches on the dime and 14 inches on the quarter. It will be interesting to see how it does with real targets in the ground.

Also checked the depth on a 58 caliber minnie ball and it was around 11 1/2" on the 10 1/2" coil air test. Taking it out to a Civil War campsite that we have been hunting of late. Have been pounding it pretty well and am anxious to see if the new coil might find some targets that may have been just out of reach with the 8" coil.

Anyone else out there that has used the large coil on their CZ?

Yep. Also have the 10.5" coil. Works very well to me as it covers more ground by one sweep than the 8" does.
But on the con side, separation is better and less iron masking with the 8".

Excellent coverage , little more depth, pinpoints well and seems to grab coins on edge that other units miss...however its heavy and many hipmount while using it...Certainly not for everywhere but in large fields or beaches it excels...

After swinging it for four hours today, it definitely is a bit on the heavy side. :) Got some nice deep targets though. I pretty much plan on using it in woods, parks and fields.

I liked using it today. Pretty much plan on using it in open areas that I do not have to worry about target separation as much.

Like Dan said it loves deep coins on edge especially silver. But as you found out can be heavy. I use it as a clean out coil meaning when little targets are left in more open less trashy aters I think I got cleaned out.
I can always get at least one more deep keeper with the 10.5 coil.

That is pretty much why I got it. Have some great sites that signals are few and far between in and thought this might get a few that are still hiding. Thanks for the response and HH.

Surgery is expensive and unpleasant. Do your arm a favor and hipmount.

Thinking about getting one for hunting some wide open areas where the additional coverage per sweep help improve the finds counts. This is good info for me.

I have been really enjoying it this past week. I have been pulling some nice items out of some very worked out areas. Will be posting pics of them later this weekend. Couple days ago went to a hard hit park I have been over dozens of times and pulled out an 1898 Liberty head nickel, 1942P war nickel and a beautiful Confederate Enfield bullet. The V nickel was completely on edge 6 inches down.

Used it today on some soccer fields that were built on part of a Civil War battle field. Was great for covering more area and I pulled two rings, one flat button and a horse bit from the fields. The coil also seems to really go deep on the small items too. Dug a very tiny button the other day at 8 inches. I would definitely recommend it and I have gotten used to the bit of extra weight too.

Understatement of the Year - Recovering from shoulder surgery is unpleasant at best.
