New CZ3D user...

Started detecting back in 1976 so not new to detecting... Just bought a used CZ3D last week. So I decided to add another detector to hunt old house sites. Currently I've been using my Racer 2. I also use a Tesoro Cibola for competition hunts. Been reading about the CZ3D so it sounded like a deep hunting machine. When I first got serious about detecting, I started off with a Fisher 1266. That was an excellent machine. Then used the Fisher 1235 for competition hunting. So I have used Fishers in the past & been very satisfied with their performance.

Welcome to the CZ3 d club. I am pretty sure you will pick things up quickly. The CZ is a great detector. It is my go to machine for grass hunts. Two of my best finds ever came with my CZ. I am pretty much hooked on them, having three CZ3ds at one time. I also had to have a CZ70 for the beach. Now I have a CZ7a and an CZ21. Sure, I have some of the newer "go fast" machines but love my CZs. Those who dig too much iron with them are ignoring the old good signal four ways rule. If you want to take a chance and dig those that don't repeat, you will get iron most of the time. It is that once in a while win that makes people do it. Good luck, please keep us posted.

Couple tips on not digging iron....Signal should repeat from at least two angles, real deep silver may have to play with signal to get it to dual repeat.
Once you dig a plug if the pinpoint moves...move on as its a nail or piece of iron..Last but not least after many trips to field you will just know the coin signal but it takes time. Sure I get fooled but 95 percent of the time these are two solid tips...

One thing on my cz6a I've found is if you run thick iron turn the sensitivity way down. There's a reason the 2 is red. I pulled a small silver earing out of a hole with a big chunk of iron in it using the 10 inch coil in the surf. Drop a dime on a pile of nails and play with sensitivity till you get a idea of how it works.

A Sunray inline probe is a nice accessory to have if you're dealing with falsing iron. Just cut a plug, stick it in the hole, and if there is something good in there with the iron, you will hear it. Does add weight to the machine though.

Took the CZ3D out this weekend. Very little trash dug. If I got a high tone in two directions I would dig. The detector would definitely lock on target. Was impressed with the performance.

Sataro they are and will be an addiction for many who truly enjoy the 3D. Had my eye on one that was Tom tuned at 12.2 even though I had a 3D already. As fate would have it, it now sets in my den waiting to be taken out when the weather breaks lol.

Can't tell how many times I've watched the DVD's Tom put out when the weather is bad. Glad to hear your having fun with it. HH

Yes I understand what you are saying. My hunting buddy & myself both recently bought the 3D's. He saw a Tom tuned one today for sale & tried to buy it. He waited a little too long & it was grabbed up.

Yea they go fast. Best friend and hunting partner had this one, I think he knew how much I liked that unit. Have you noticed that unmistakable sharp tone on a coin? Just seems to stand out when swinging compared to another high tone you might get. Sharp up and down short tone is the best way I can explain it.
