Excuse my ignorance but does the CZ3d tell you the difference between a zink, copper, flying eagle penny, dime, quarter, half and silver dollar?

not really they will all high tone. some zincs and Indians will meter in the second notch from the right but copper pennies dimes and up will meter all the way to the right. that's why if you get a high tone good from two directions dig it. if you use the salt mode I noticed you can usually separate zincs from copper pennies, dimes and up. I did notice Indians depending on how worn can range anywhere from nickels up. i've found more buffalo nickels and indian heads with the cz than my 5 other detectors combined. just works great for old coins if your in an older area. ive found several Indians in my yard 8 to 9 inches deep that my f75 and v3i missed. I'm surprised the cz3d isn't more popular. if I could only keep one detector it would be the cz or the v3i. some say the cz doesn't do well in trash but ive had really good luck with it in some of the worst spots.

Covered it well John......coil for coil deepest around.....has to be swung slow for extreme depth and easily masked by junk...however in experienced hands does well even in junky areas with the small coil....

That is one reason I keep the Etrac around as with digital Numbers can split hairs and tell difference between a Dime,Quarter, Half. Because No matter how shallow I am digging a Quarter or Half Signal as found Silver ones less than 2 " Before that others must have past as too loud a signal.
