I can't seem to find nickles when useing my machine. I know they come in around 22-23 but I'm always digging a pulltab when it comes up.

I don't have my MXT Pro yet....but after researching the VDI for a nickel is usually +18 or +20....the problem is pulltabs and other trash have the same VDI. So you're probably going to have to dig that trash in order to find your nickels.

If you keep digging those VDI numbers in the 15 to 25 range you will find nickels and gold rings. Most of the gold rings and other gold jewelry I have found have been in that range.

My "sweet spot" is 18-20 VDI for nickles like Kyle's. High percentage of nickles in that range, particularly a repeating 20 VDI.
That's in my turf of course but it may work for you too. 4-1/2 years of hunting with my MXT and have over 7400 nickles alone. Good Luck!!

I bought the mxt when it first came out. On mine where I hunt ,nickles register 14 to 20, if it registers 21 or greater theres a 95% chance its a tab. Have found several womens wedding rings that register in the range of 12 to 20.

At solid VDI of 20 a few seasons ago got a small 14k ladies diamond engagement ring.

i'm here in the s.w. washington. high minerals and my VDIs for nickels run 16-22. i won't dig if it hits 22 most of the time. but if it hits 18 a few times during my swing then most of the time i get a nickel.

Pesky nickles. They need to put some gold into them, haha.

Need to dig more holes and you'll find more nickles and jewelry.
