Camping Weekend

I found this WW II Sterling Army/Navy Production Award pin and after doing a bit of research, it's from the Navy. The letter "E" stands for Excellence. And with the blue background of the "E", it means it's from the Navy. I was pretty happy about finding that little jewel.

As we were leaving a local pub, I noticed a picture hanging on the wall. I had to stop and take a picture. The Army/Navy Production Award was for the Kewanee Boiler Corp. employees. There's a lot of history in this old photograph.

I also found a "Good for 5 cents in trade to H.R.". It doesn't have a town on it, so no telling what it's for. A few wheat cents made it in my pouch with a few pieces of clad. I love the old Purex Bleach cap for .22 cents.

Love that E pin. They are stilled used today by the USN .... but as ribbons with an E. No badges anymore. Really neat find. CCH

Do you know what the long narrow piece is in the top right of your picture? I have found two of them, different sizes, but have been unable to ID them. Thanks in advance.

Now you know. I'm really surprised as to how many are found. Guess they didn't have Nintendo then......
