$1600 Last Week: Cartier and PT

A very hard week--ran the CTX3030, the Whites Dual Field, and the CS6PI. Fought the seas hard for every one of these--my "coach" Roland was impressed. Extreme sanded in conditions--had to really look around for any decent ground to work. Got a Cartier band, 7.2 gr, a PT band 14.3 gr. a 14k, 7.9 gr. signet at left, and in the middle, a 14k 7.7 gr. band and a 4 gram 18k ring with .30 rock at right. Total 1.86 oz. I'm counting the Cartier band by weight only--seeing them for $795. on Ebay but it needs to be cleaned and authenticated. Learning a few more things about when to run the CTX open or closed. Got the PT band on a hill--high interference zone--I think running Andy's Beach prog helped because of the beach mode type rejects. Drayton's prog works well for this too--both cut out the bottom end seabed noise. DF went down at least 20" on one band it sounded like a dime on the surface--great "bread and butter" pulse machine with it's fidelity and super depth.

Clive, hard work pays off. I will leave some rings behind due to the fact I can't hunt quite the way I use to, keep it up it pays.
Got a question for you. I am a meat and potato type guy, I like to keep things simple, CZ21 & Excaliber, MXT. Man I love your books, read and reread regularly.
I hear all sorts of comments about the CTX programs etc, for all the time it takes to work the machine, learning curve etc etc is it really worth it. I am not against change, but change for change sake is a trap that we sometimes get caught up in. Do most CTX guys use the machine to its full benefits?

Gerry

Gerry-I'm of the same school--simple--more so--I'm a pulse hunter. But where I hunt there's a ton of competition--local pros who hate to see me get anything. I've had to really focus my game to compete--to become more adaptable and versatile. The CTX has helped me this way and the learning curve has been well worth it. If it went as deep as a Dual Field --the CTX would be my 90% machine as it is I run it about half the time. Gives a you a lot of choices and if you know your sites--these can give you a lot of accuracy. With any machine--you pay to learn.

I don't know if you guys that consistently come home with piles of the Good Stuff realize how much you inspire many of us. As always, appreciate the pics and tips!

Then we learn from you, I remember setting up late nights just reading the Excalibur & Sovereign forum, BB Sailor, Bob LI... CJC.. Then you wrote the Book on the Excal and had PP hunting in there ..Wow!

Now that's the Hottest thing going!!

Effort is Important, But knowing where to make an effort can make all the difference!
