Flusher nozzles, garden hoses for dredging?

I always wondered about them flusher nozzle things I have seen on some gold dredges? How do they work? What are they used for?
I am also trying to figger out how to attach a garden hose to my current dredge output setup? Am using a Honda WX15 trash pump,
black ABS plastic 1,5 inch dia.output fittings, necked down to 1.25 inch threaded pipe nipple,to lay flat hose with brass quick connectors to my suction nozzle . Last time I did this, I had to use 1 inch pVC pipe and some adapters.
Trying to stick with 1.25 inch for max water flow to the nozzle this time.
2 inch dredge conversion 90% done now.

Problem fixed, why no coments on flusher nozzles?

Thanks to my buddies in the tool room at work who drilled and tapped and epoxied a brass 3/4 inch diameter garden hose adapter into my ABS fitting for me, thanks guys..

A simple T fitting works too. Eliminate ALL 90 degree turns asap as each and every one costs ya 7-8% of your velocity flow hanging a right angle turn. 5/8" hose-no kink and a lawn sweeper nozzle with a simple control valve and your crevice blasting, clay melting ,impacted gravels just bust apart. Much better recovery, many less plugups as no more surprises. Ifn' ya' ain't a blastn' your jus' a piddln' and a diddln'-John

What is to know? They are a garden hose outlet on the pump - you can use them for whatever you want. The "flusher nozzle" thing is for people who run a hose and nozzle of the pump to blast material out of crevices. There are also hand suction pumps you can run off the fitting to aid in priming the pump. http://www.keeneeng.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=PK1&Category_Code=

They can be handy just as a garden hose and common garden nozzle/sprayer for washing off your carpet into a bucket.

I was kinda hoping to see a YouTube Video of a flusher nozzle in action? Are they any better than a garden hose with a cheap lawn sprayer nozzle attached? Can't quite picture what Hoser is talking about?
Thanks.

2 ways to go-adjustable rotating kind but least amount of pressure. Lawn sweeper looks just like a small firemans nozzle-brass restrictor with nuttn' but a hole through it-just buy a adjustable hose shut off valve with the biggest hole through it you can find to shut off and good to go. MUCH better pressure because of no restrictions inside. 5/8" non kink hose much better, more psi,gpm than 1/2 el cheapo. shorter the hose the better 25 foot max. Do it underwater as on the banks considered hydro-- do what your morals mandate-John
