My guess is a bad coil. Can you use another coil?

I'm going to try a diff coil a guy I know has the same machine.I just don't know why a coil would go bad from being stored.I tried diff programs and rebooted it.I've been metal detecting for 40+ years tried every brand made.I'll let you know how a diff coil works. Thanks Ron

There is always the possibility the DFX needs a tuneup but I seldom hear of that.

Get a good set of copper top batteries. Turn machine on and set your PAG at 3 with AC at 64 and the DC at 32. Air and ground balance and see if that makes a difference. Could be a bad coil but with a new machine I don't know.

Sweeping to many times in same spot
Ground balanced on a target
Do a reset pull battery with power on

Just some thoughts
I had to reset my XLT a lot not once on my DFX
