Today I went to one of my local haunts. I always find clad and have even found sterling jewelry here. Today I brought #2 detector. Big mistake. I had trouble pin-pointing the most. And the battery went dead unexpectately. The detector I had was deep! ...at finding garbage. I so wish I knew my #2 detector better. Until then...DFX is number one. Im not trying to make a fool of myself...just being honest. I just want people to know...take the time to learn your machine...because I obviously havent learned my #2. HH. Matt

Jim, number two is a Minelab BBS machine. Its an awesome detector, its just that the learning curve is a bit steeper than the DFX. HH. Matt

I had my DFX 4 years it took awhile to understand the machine about 1 year after that it seemed so simple , one thing i found out was that machine loves deep cooper coins and relics i used the 10x12 sef coil great coil for the DFX but i sold the DFX this week, i still have my #2 machine Minelab BBS it loves gold!!, now it is my #1 machine i thought also it was going to be a long learning curve but i find it,s a lot easier to learn then the DFX IMHO . Still the DFX is a great machine . Jim
