As a gold jewelry hunter, sometimes, when I'm in high modern trash, I need more information than just a TID number.

Hey Mike. It sounds like you have had a few DFX detectors in the past? If you don't mind me asking...how do you prefer to set up the DFX for gold jewelry? I have had my DFX for 3 years and I still have a lot to learn. I mainly go for old coins but I like bling too. I do well with it and I have a lot of coils for it. Good luck with your new DFX and HH. I'm hunting in aluminum trash and want to see the characteristics of the object I'm hunting looking for those objects that have the highest potential to be gold.

Single frequency 15 kHz. Normalization OFF Mixed mode ON. Tone Id ON. Visual Discrimination OFF. Set the threshold tone to 231ish. Signagrah - turn Accumulate On, Average OFF. Accept everything. Then go back and reject the conductive range (or ranges) I am interested in hearing which in my case is foil and about 10 numbers above nickels. (I don't reject the three nickel numbers)

Result is that I have flagged the conductive range I want to hear with a tone I can focus in on and I can still see VDI and signagraph readings for them. I reject iron by ignoring the low tones, I can still hear coins and chase those if I want to. But my main focus is anything that hits that special tone I created for them.

All the other settings (recovery, speed and filters) is based upon a combination of ground and trash amount.

Hope that helps.
