This was my entry to E&W Treasures Best Finds 2004. We have a club meeting tonight and I will have more pictures to post of this months finds including the watch, it cleaned up real pretty.

Three-Carat Diamond Bracelet

My favorite hunting partner, who happens to be my wife, Nancy, and I had permission to hunt an older vacant property that has a history in a small town in Central Illinois. We had hunted this same yard many times before and it had yielded a hand full of silver coins, some relics and a couple of tokens, but nothing really old. I still think the 1800

Did it make it into the Best Finds issue? If not, it should have. Ron

Larry, do you know what the exact vdi reading was? I know you mentioned a nickel. But I had a tip from a pm that told me nickels usually hit on exactly 19. So all the 19's that I have dug have been nickels! I think that was a great tip, if vdi moves above 21, I have been letting them go. I know I have probably been missing some things but I just want to learn the dfx first with coins and work my way up, I want to have an exact number on hits if possible, so if you remember reading could you pass it on, thanks Gregg. Also another great tip I had was always bring a bottle of water. I am always very thirsty when I am done, I usually mix water with those little packages of crystal light, Gregg.
