No question the safari kills it!

It was a day of 2nd'S for me. Got my second 1858 flying eagle penny, and my second braided hair large cent, this one an 1837 date. Then I pulled my first gold of the year, and my first "true gold". Not a modern ring lost at a park, or a necklace, but a colonial era gold locket. Beautifully detailed on the front with ornate designs. The cellar holes I was detecting date from the late 1700s to mid 1800s and I thought I had found most of what was to be found already. Glad I decided to hit them again!

Awesome finds! That locket is one I would do some research on as it probably is very collectible and probably be worth some good money! Are the marks clear/decipherable?

The designs on the front are very clear. I don't see any writing or numbers tho to give me a place to start

Really nice finds. Love the detail on the locket. Fine looking fleagle, too. I think my only fleagle tid' at 37.....?

My first flying ealgle ti'd at 18 on the safari. Almost didn't dig it cuz I was getting lots of trash in that range. But it was so clear and not choppy I dug it. This one rang in at a solid copper 35. Both in great shape. It's weird how different they were. This one was a lot deeper though

I wonder if the one that came in at 18 was a blended target ID with iron? How could a copper coin ring up so low unless there was a lower conductor in close proximity pulling it down? Does it still ring up at 18 out of the ground?
