Hi Everyone,

Great site, and I look forward to gettin to know y'all. It's been a tough week, and a great one, tryin to navigate the waters of detector-dom to find the right all-purpose machine for my purposes. I wanna thank everyone for their contributions, and give a special shout out to Steve H for the clarity and honesty of his knowledge and experience. I was all set to order an Infinium from him when I changed direction at the last minute and decided on the TDI. Sorry Steve...White's marketing model directed me otherwise, to a local dealer, but maybe I'll be able to repay you by visiting your place. My TDI should arrive in about a week.

Now if you'll all excuse me, I'm gonna go throw up again.

But you did more than just that. I read a lot about White's and Garrett's here, and you have a few posts too. It's my first detector so I guess I got a little excited, but I also felt a little sick over the price tag, double what I wanted to spend. It's late in arriving and I still get the sweats, thinkin I should cancel the order before they ship it and maybe get the MXT. (What put me over the top and made me switch from Garretts Infinium to the TDI was a post at a different site where the well-known user had just discovered another aspect of the TDI's discrimination capability).

I'm still confused, but figure I prefer the White's line. Just need sumthin that'll find gold and can be submersed (coil, which all White's do). The MXT maybe woulda been the better choice for my wallet, but I wasn't sure if 46 khz was up to snuff where at least one other MD goes at 75 khz. Like I said, it's my first and I dunno what I'm doin. Just gotta keep readin here. This is the best forum I've found.
