What is the stock coil for this machine in the first year of production.

First year and all their life, the Blue Max 950 coils were stock. The Blue Max series 8" coils were standard on the Classic ID, and the 8" 6B coils (non-Blue Max) were stock coils on the one-knob Classic and Classic II.

The IDX Pro uses all of the popular Blue Max series of coils to include Blue Max 350 (their 4" Snooper coil), the 6½" Blue Max series (including the Blue Max 600, 5.3 Black Max and 5.3 BullsEye), nd the Blue Max 8" coils (Blue Max 800, ProScan 800 and Royal 800 to name but three of them). Some of these had different labels, as noted, but they were the Blue Max coils, and the 950 was the stock coil on all the IDX Pro's.

So, the black max IS the blue max?

Yes - just with a different colour.
Also : The 5.3 Bullseye is identical to the Bluemax 600 (at least performance wise)
