I along with my buddy are at the point that we have to get into the gut of the honey hole and it is just pure hell. It is still pumping out silver but silver coins are coming up as lg ring screwcap. im losing my mind we try to stick to small areas but it at times is almost too much. We went this evening and i hit two silver dimes a 41 merc and a 49 rosie, along with two nice silver rings. I also hit 9 more wheaties. My buddy hit 2 dimes both rosies and not sure of wheat count. But to get these we had to dig like gophers. I dug 82 holes he dug 116 holes in about a 2 hours of hunting. It blows my mind how i can dig down 4.5 inches and find a merc then dig 7 inches and hit a scrap penny. This is why i get so bewildered at times because i try to remember a depth and dig those targets first but this area everything sinks down quick. well at least this place should keep me occupied for a few more years.

You actually get to dig silver coins in those two hours?!? Sign me up! I wish our area produced like that; I would dig a trash heap if it meant there were silver coins to be had. I've only done this going on a year now but have only ever, ever found a single silver coin in that short amount of time. I don't mean to rant but it seemed there was some complaint in your post. My apologies if it were otherwise.

My last Merc was only an inch down. That was last week. Yesterday I was clawing my way down holes with a mini crowbar 6" plus and yes only finding clad! I am digging anything that gives me a solid target indication. I still had fun but mixed with frustration. Everyone hang in there and have fun! HH. Matt
